Instructions to mount the QNX 4 primary filesystem as the second physical hard disk. BOOTING WITH PRIMARY FILESYSTEM ON PHYSICAL DRIVE 1. IDE and a SCSI. : Has anyone had any experience with using the Adaptec 1522 or 154x drivers: for QNX 2.21 and a ZIP drive? I have been able to do it, but have an. I am posting this through Deja News since the original posting through my ISP only made it to their news server and not to the rest of USENET.. Has anyone had any experience with using the Adaptec 1522 or 154x drivers for QNX 2.21 and a ZIP drive? I have been able to do it, but have an error message at mount time: 'Init driver 4 returns e3' on the machine with the 154x card and also the machine with the 1522 chipset (no card), a T6600CD portable (? I can write to ZIP disks on both machines, but the disks are not recognizable by the other machine, sort of like one disk is written in English and the other in Sanskrit..QNX tech support has been of assistance in helping me check what I did for the mount, but since the 1522 driver was written by a customer (see letter below), that seems to be the end of it. Samurai shodown kusaregedo. Can anyone provide assistance in the 'e3' error code and what to do about it? Are there any SCSI guru's who have perhaps worked on the 1522 driver for QNX 2.21 or the newer 4.2x QNX opsystem? Perhaps the code could be adapted to correct the 1522 driver for QNX 2.21.. Additional note: The 154x driver: Blks Date Time Name 20 14-Apr-96 9:44pm 3:/drivers/disk.ahascsi works great for JAZ drives (I have one of those installed also), and even with the above error, can be used to backup and restore from a ZIP. (I have verified that the restore works). Just don't try to mix ZIP disks created on 1522 and 154x machines.. I downloaded the newest Adaptec 154x driver for QNX 2.21 that you put in my download directory: Blks Date Time Name 20 14-Apr-96 9:44pm 3:/drivers/disk.ahascsi Just below is a sample (print screen) of what my system startup looks like now with the new SCSI driver installed. Virtual Scsi Driver Not DetectedI am using the +v option with mount in order to see the driver return status. With this newest 154x SCSI driver (disk.ahascsi 14-Apr-96), at least I have the option of turning this option off. With the previous version I was using (disk.ahascsi 18-Nov-93), the +v option had no effect and a lot of trash was printed on the screen for every mount; no detrimental effects, just an annoyance. I guess that of the plethora of disk drivers that you and I found on QUICS, this disk.ahascsi 14-Apr-96 driver is the one to recommend when someone asks for a 154x driver. Blaupunkt modena cd52. Maybe it would be feasible to purge the older ones from QUICS(?), or at least add a note to the README file.
